A Walk to See Dante's Mighty Waterfall

Dear group,

autumn offers a lot of opportunities to enjoy nature, and even if foliage will be probably over in mid-November, the rain will swell the waterways and create amazing sceneries.

Our circular route will start from the small village of San Benedetto in Alpe, and climbs to the enchanting Piana dei Romiti and then to the beautiful Lavane waterfall.
Then we will descend into the valley where we will enjoy the splendid view of the Acquacheta waterfall, which with a drop of about 70 meters flows into the Montone stream.

We will walk through the woods and clearings, along streams used by ancient mills, remembering those who found in these solitary places the ideal place to live a profound experience of faith.

Suitable dressing for the weather forecast, trekking shoes, water 1L min.

Carpooling will be attempted to reach the starting point of the hike but seats for everybody cannot be guaranteed.

Therefore, please consider using your own mean of transportation to reach the starting point; I'd be really grateful if you can offer seats to other participants!
