Think Better Speaker Series: Behavioral Economics Anomalies
“The Winner’s Curse: Behavioral Economics Anomalies, Then and Now”
Why do people hold on to possessions of little value? Why is the winner of an auction so often disappointed?
In this Think Better talk, behavioral economist Alex Imas (Chicago Booth) shares the latest edition of The Winner’s Curse, co-authored with Richard Thaler, exploring the quirky anomalies that reveal why humans fall short of rational expectations. The talk will help you see how behavioral research explains everyday choices, from saving for retirement to trading meme stocks, and how these findings remain remarkably relevant.
The event is free but you need to reserve your own ticket by registering in their website.
