Lecture and Concert
Every year on February 20th, the National Commemoration of the Liberation of the Roma from Slavery is celebrated, a historic moment that will mark its 170th anniversary in Protected content . The liberation of the Roma in the Romanian Principalities was a complex process that lasted approximately 25 years and restored the freedom of an estimated 250,000 Roma.
To mark this occasion, the Protected content , in cooperation with the Academia Rromaï – Association for Roma to Roma e.V. Vienna and the Roma for Roma Association in Munich, invites you to a commemorative event on February 20th at 6:00 PM, marking Protected content since the liberation of the Roma.
The program includes a performance of a musical piece composed especially for February 20th, created and performed by Adrian Gaspar, followed by a lecture on the liberation of the Roma by Valentin Cristian Rupiță. The event concludes with a mini-concert by the band Orkestar BALKAN¡X, featuring a repertoire that includes traditional and Balkan pieces.
