Canyoning. Benahavis Gorge

10.00 start in Benahavis, normally takes about 2 hours total.

It consists of walking, wading, swimming and occasionally climbing over the odd bolder. The rocks can be slippy so anyone with weak ankles needs to take care. There are jumps for the more adventurous. The longest swim is 75m but there are places to take a break. Most people do it in trainers and shorts; but a cheap short water sports wet suit (around €20 from Decathlon or El Corte and sometimes Aldi) is also good if you feel the cold. Also worth getting a small waterproof bag if you want to take your phone.
Meet at the parking next to Parque torre Leonera (turn right at the first roundabout in Benahavis village and it’s Protected content on your left). We will go for drinks and tapas afterwards.
