Tajo Negro Circular

A challenging circular route from Refugio de Juanar (base of La Concha) with stunning views of the coast. First time for this group on this hike.
It is only 6.5km but has 350m of ascent, most of which is in the final approach to the first peak on a steep, narrow, rocky path making it a HARD MODERATE.
A proper mountain hike, the peak is lower than La Concha but arguably more impressive. Right footwear essential. Approximately 3.5-4 hours with drinks at the Refugio afterwards.
09.50 for a 10.00 departure from the car park above the Refugio where the road splits around a tree. There is no phone reception so be on time and be sure about the meeting place.
Bring plenty of water and a snack for the halfway stop.

Appropriate footwear is hiking boots or shoes with a proper deep tread. Trainers with flat soles have caused accidents on our hikes and therefore are no longer permitted.
