Chinghiz Aitmatov: Girl With the Red Scarf
We are reading The Girl with the Red Scarf ( Кызыл Жоолук, Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım) by Chingiz Aitmatov, one of the most prominent writers of the Turkic world and the author of Jamila (Cemile), which is regarded as one of the most beautiful love stories in world literature.
Aitmatov wrote his books in both Russian and Kyrgyz. The story was originally published in Kyrgyz as The Red Scarf. In Turkey, it was published under the title Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım. In Protected content , it was adapted into a film with the same title, which became one of the most-watched love stories in Turkish cinema.
