Let's listen to a lady who plays the trombone!
There are not many ladies playing the trombone in jazz, so let's take the opportunity to enjoy music composed and performed by one of the few. This time I propose to listen to the Janika Löttgen Quartet. The official announcement is here:
You'll find a Youtube video with a piece from a concert of the band and also a link to Janika's home page where there's even more music, all of it excellent:
This is a concert from the "New Faces" series, which is sponsored by Sparda-Bank, so admission is just 9 euros!
Practical information section:
The music starts at 20:30 but as usually it's advisable to get there well ahead of time in order to secure the most attractive seats, which are at the tables right in front of the stage. There is a bar at Jazzschmiede so we can chat and have some drinks before the music starts.
You can reserve your ticket in advance by clicking on 'Karten reservieren' on the Jazzschmiede page mentioned above.
You need to pay for your ticket at the entrance.
Here's how to get there:
As you'll see, there's a tram and several bus lines.
There are pubs close by so we can go to one of them after the concert.
Any questions? Feel welcome to contact me.
CU at the concert!
