Enoshima Tenno Festival: Mikoshi, Waves & Tradition
Join us for a vibrant and energetic summer festival by the sea! The Enoshima Tenno Festival is one of the most unique matsuri in the Kanagawa area, featuring traditional music, parades, and a rare sea procession, where mikoshi (portable shrines) are carried into the water by local shrine bearers.
Our plan is to:
1. Meet at Protected content
2. Walk together to catch the mikoshi sea procession and dunk, one of the highlights of the event
3. Follow part of the parade as it moves through the streets
This is a great opportunity to experience traditional Japanese culture, take incredible photos, and enjoy the festive summer atmosphere near the beach.
Come with comfortable walking shoes, a hat, and water.
