Rose Harvest and the Ghost Villages of Jabal Akhdar in Oman

Day one: Saturday 8th April: We will leave Dubai very early in the morning and head to Oman through Al Ain border crossing Jabal Akhdar bound. We will meet our local Omani guide who will escort us from the base of the mountain to the start of our hike at the top of Jabal Akhdar. We will do a 3 KM hike to the abandoned villages of Al Aqar and Al Sharijah.
Day Two: Sunday 9th: After Breakfast , we will head with our guide to visit a traditional Rose Water Factory and learn where does it get the smoky smell from. Then we will meet another guide to take us on a 10 KM hike to the abandoned village of Sarab. The hike starts in a small village near Al Aqur and follows a well-defined path that winds through rocky terrain and terraced farms. The path offers beautiful views of the Al Hajar Mountains and the deep wadis that run through the region.
Then we will make our way down the mountain after having a packed snack. (Note: as it will be Ramadan , there will be no restaurants available to dine in). The way down the mountain has to be done with a 4x4 cars only and then we will continue on our way Dubai Bound.
