Britta Virves Trio:
With her trio, Estonian pianist Britta Virves creates a sound language that is as intimate as it is powerful. Her compositions combine Nordic clarity with narrative depth, carried by a fine sense of melody and dynamics. Between lyrical restraint and rhythmic energy, a modern trio sound unfolds that effortlessly combines jazz tradition and personal signature. The interplay with bass and drums creates a sound space in which every note breathes - open, approachable and full of poetic tension.

Julian Sartorius Solo:
A special feature of the SummerFestival is the three-day visit of the virtuoso drummer and sound researcher Julian Sartorius from Switzerland. Sartorius plays in Sophie Hunger's band, among others, recorded records with Colin Vallon for ECM and reaches millions of people on the Internet with his “Urban Drumming” videos. Hardly anyone is able to rethink the drums like him. In his solo set, Sartorius uses everyday objects and prepared drums to conjure up a fascinating world of sound between fine acoustic detail and seemingly electronic textures. With precise, hypnotically interlaced rhythms and extraordinary sounds, the conventional boundaries of percussion are broken - organic, experimental and profoundly musical.
