Engage the Ribs! - Strength Yoga Class
“By giving up all attachments, the karma-yogi performs actions through the medium of the body, mind, intelligence and senses simply for the purpose of self-purification”– Gita, Chapter 5, V11
Hope you had a good end of summer ;)
Let’s keep welcoming Autumn who also brings its own beauty with some Strength Yoga class!
The Fall is a season for balancing light and dark, letting go, and accepting the impermanence of things. As we watch leaves fluttering to the ground in the fall, we are reminded that nature's cycles are mirrored in our lives. Autumn is a time for letting go and releasing things that have been a burden.
As you may know in these classes we work on bringing awareness to different parts of the body: this time we’ll focus this practice on the RIBS, engaging them with our breathing. The RIBS are considered to be sacred bones, having three important functions: protection, support and respiration. It encloses and protects the heart and lungs. It provides a strong framework onto which the muscles of the shoulder girdle, chest, upper abdomen and back can attach.
As usual, this will be an open class, 75 minutes Hatha-Vinyasa style with meditation, and in this occasion, I’ll be introducing some Ashtanga movements ;)
Please bring your own mat, water and if you have a small cushion for support.
We’ll meet at the entrance of Retiro Park – Puerta de Alcala at 10.45am to start sharp at 11AM.
If you have any questions let me know! All levels welcome ;)
Look forward to see you all!
