Mikael Kivimäki's "Son of Man" Poetry and Music Event

Mikael Kivimäki will soon host his second evening of poetry and music. Here are his thoughts on how he became a writer.
I have to be honest with you, it has been a long road to get to this point. I wasn't born to do this; it sort of just... happened. Almost by accident, really. I was 14 years old, and one day, the thought just came to me: "You know, maybe you should try out writing."
At first, it was just a hobby; a way to vent and express the angst and emotion that any teenager has. But oddly, I started to notice something, as the years went by, and eventually, it came to me. "Why do I write?" Connection. Human connection between the words and the reader. Unbeknownst to me for the longest time, I was writing for You. And That, my friends, is what writing means to me. It is a continuing dialogue between me and You.
So please join me on March the 24th and let's keep this conversation going. Most of the evening will be in English but some poems will be in Finnish.
