Sacred Places in "Grand Paris"
Let's visit an exhibition in a very unusal venue, a garage underneath the square in front of Notre Dame.
For its first "off-site" exhibition, the Pavillon de l'Arsenal presents Sacred Places - Build, Celebrate, Coexist, on the forecourt of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.
After the fire of April 15, Protected content , the restoration of Notre-Dame Cathedral served as a reminder of the centrality of the sacred in the capital. The project, scrutinized by the eyes of the entire world, demonstrated that this sacredness is alive and well, that it transcends the realm of religion without ever excluding it, and that it speaks volumes about what the city is.
The Sacred Places exhibition invites us to discover how the sacred is embodied today in Greater Paris, in all its diversity, through a variety of perspectives, spanning history, geography, and sociology. Religious and non-religious places, places of remembrance, the sacred in nature: the exhibition explores the multiple forms that the sacred takes today.
We will visit the exhibition and each one can decide if he wants to draw or not. Afterwards we will go for a drink together in the area.
