Walk through Expos, Gardens, History
Welcome to join an artistic and floral walk before the official event. First we'll visit the temporary exhibition to know more about the San Telmo Art School.
In the mid-19th century, Málaga, along with Barcelona, was the main center of the Industrial Revolution in Spain. Prosperity attracted engineers, merchants, entrepreneurs, and artists. In this environment, a wealthy bourgeoisie emerged, with cultural interests, which necessitated artistic education to promote the city's prestige and aesthetic development. In Protected content , the San Telmo School was founded, fulfilling this objective: to train those who would shape Málaga's modernity. Since then, the institution has been a benchmark of the city's cultural life and a key player in Málaga's artistic presence abroad.
The second visit takes us to see another exposition; Delicious Gardinum, by Rafael Chacón, that does not appear as a simple gathering of sculptures, but as a transit experience, a symbolic constellation where each piece acts as an apparition, cipher, and threshold.
We'll also get to see ancient basins where Romans made delious fish sauce called garum, see part of the old port wall and walk through a beautiful rose garden and fountains before joining the others at Malagueta.
