This community-driven initiative started in Protected content an international Facebook group, which grew quickly to over Protected content ! Using a “micro-historical approach” the books highlight how macro events shaped the everyday lives of ordinary people. Over Protected content written by family members are included across Volumes 1 and 2, documenting several centuries of migration waves.
InterNations member Lisa Levitt’s chapter in the book describes several generations of her Hungarian family, particularly her grandmother’s pioneering art gallery in midcentury Manhattan.
Note: authors are not paid for participating either in this book or related events.
The “Hungarian Roots” books and community support living family chronicles, which are still unfolding as descendants continue to reconnect. These personal stories can build bridges between nations, generations, and cultures!
