About the organization and the speaker:

Sean's Club aims to enrich the lives of Down Syndrome children.

Special Education in Japan for Children with Down Syndrome although much improved over the last 20 years is still far behind the educational programs available in countries such as the United Kingdom.

UK Special needs programs use the latest techniques available in the education of Children with Down Syndrome. Speech and Language therapy, Child Sensitivity development are just two of such advanced educational programs.

UK special needs programs lead to improving the communication skills and learning abilities of children with Down syndrome, and eventually improving their quality of life.

In the UK, there is a program called ‘Early Intervention’ for children with Down’s syndrome. Early intervention is collective term to describe services that can help children by giving early support for them and their families, with a focus on enhancing development. Practitioners from different professions may engage with families to provide the support they need, for example, to promote play and learning and to support communication, speech and language.

Raising the awareness in Japan to these UK programs and others like it is one of the cornerstones of Sean’s Club and it is our mission to effect change to offer Early Intervention in Japan.
