Rigi-Chestene-Weg: Immensee Hohle Gasse to Weggis

*Updated start time: 9:30 am*
(The bus arrives at 28 minutes after each hour) Our walk begins at the historic Hohle Gasse in Immensee. According to legend, the tyrant Gessler was shot here with a crossbow by Wilhelm Tell. Hiking south we'll enjoy wonderful views of Lake Lucerne and Lake Zug. Our path continues to the ruins of the Gesslerburg Castle. We will climb to the Alpenhof, an authentically renovated country inn with a shady garden restaurant. At this height, the Chestene-Weg leads through beautiful fields and meadows via Hof Lantschi - Klösterli - Rotenhof to Greppen (where there is a bus stop if anyone needs to leave early). Next we will enjoy views of the majestic Pilatus, Stanserhorn and Bürgenstock. We'll continue to the «Zingeli», with a postcard view of the village of Weggis. The Chestene-Weg goes all the way to Vitznau, but we'll turn and go down to the center of Weggis, where you can catch the boat to Lucerne or a bus back to the Hohle Gasse for anyone who comes by car.
