Urmiberg Circuit Hike From Brunnen (With Cable Car Down)

Escape the crowds and hike with the locals on Brunnen's very own mountain, Urmiberg. This challenging route is for experienced hikers only - be sure bring your boots and poles, and plenty of water! We'll meet at the Brunnen train station at 9:05 am when the IR 46 pulls into the station.

We'll leave Brunnen and cross a wooden bridge, then hike a steep, narrow trail toward the top of Urmiberg Protected content above sea level). Between the steep sections, we will enjoy the "Panoramaweg" with spectacular views of Lake Lucerne, the peaks of Mythen and Fronalpstock, and the towns of Schwyz and Brunnen. When we reach our destination, we can enjoy something to drink at the cozy mountaintop restaurant. We will avoid a steep descent by using the Urmiberg cable car, which will take us down to the lakeside. A bus or brief walk gets us back to Brunnen, with its many restaurants.

You can decide to relax and have lunch on the mountaintop or in Brunnen, or head to the Brunnen station by 12:55 pm to catch the IR 46 northbound.
