Continuing our series of reading books from different cultures, save the date for our next book discussion 'The Captain's Daughter' by Alexander Pushkin.

Alexander Pushkin’s short novel is set during the reign of Catherine the Great, when the Cossacks rose up in rebellion against the Russian empress. It is presented as the memoir of Pyotr Grinyov, a nobleman, who, as the title suggests, falls in love with the captain's daughter.

A historical novel with its main theme being love in the time of war, the book promises to be an engrossing read!

Thank you very much to Jana and Tanja for the suggestion and looking forward to an insider's view into this specific time in Russian history,

Looking forward to a great discussion!

Happy reading! :)
