TED Circles - The Unforeseen Consequences of a Fast-Paced World
The unforeseen consequences of a fast-paced world
Why does modern technology promise efficiency, but leave us constantly feeling pressed for time? Anthropologist Kathryn Bouskill explores the paradoxes of living in a fast-paced society and explains why we need to reconsider the importance of slowing down in a world that demands go, go, go.
TED Circles is an open platform of small groups that meet for conversations about ideas. It’s a new TED initiative where volunteer hosts invite friends, neighbours, strangers, or a mix to discuss a variety of interesting topics. It’s a great chance to learn new things, meet new people and be connected with the broader community through these uncertain times.
This month the central topic is "Consumption, what's your function?".
We will watch Kathryn Bouskill's talk "The unforeseen consequences of a fast-paced world"
As many of us stay at home to protect each other from the COVID-19 pandemic, it's also a great opportunity to meet and have meaningful conversations. Come and share your voice and let us know how to prepare for a better future
