Guided Tour - Casa dos Bicos - Icon Building

Here is a building - an icon that many like me have seen the outside of but never seen the inside of this intriguing building.
-Just 3 minute's walk from Terreiro do Paço or 8 minute's walk from Baixa/Chiado and 15 minutes walk from Cais Sodre train station.
-A Casa dos Bicos is a building that the son of the viceroy of India, Afonso de Albuquerque, had built in Protected content , after a trip to Italy, and which was based on the “Palazzo dei Diamanti”, one of the most famous palaces of the Renaissance, in Ferrara. Although it is legitimate to assume that its first owner would have liked his house to have the same name, the opinion of the people of Lisbon at the time was different. Where some wanted to see diamonds, they only saw stone spouts, and, as custom dictates, so many people called it the Casa dos Bicos, and it stayed like that through the centuries.
-Over time, the house served different functions, both private and public, and was even used, for some time, as a cod warehouse. Currently is a semi-public space managed by the José Saramago Foundation that holds exhibitions, recitals, conferences, etc.
As the group is restricted to 40 people, I kindly ask that close to the date, those who cannot attend, cancel online to give others time to attend the event.
Thank you very much and see you soon.
