Groovy music adorers- the live music will be amazing!
Grammy-nominated saxophonist and composer Godwin Louis kicks off the Protected content series from GBH Music and JazzBoston with an uplifting performance featuring works from his latest album, “Psalms and Proverbs”.
A Boston-based artist and Berklee College of Music professor, Louis’ music seamlessly fuses his Haitian heritage with jazz, gospel, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. He has performed worldwide alongside legends like Herbie Hancock and Madonna and is known for his humanitarian work through Experience Ayiti, an organization he founded to support arts education in Haiti.
For this show, Louis is joined by some of his closest musical collaborators, including Billy Buss (trumpet), Johnny Mercier (organ), Dabin Ryu (piano), Or Bareket (bass), and Julian Miltenberger (drums).
The concert takes place at 8pm in Fraser Performance Studio with a pre-concert reception at 7:15pm. Paris Alston, of GBH News Rooted, will host the performance, which will be filmed for broadcast on GBH2.
This event is made possible by the Goldstein Family Fund.
