68 works from the Gelman Santander Collection are once again on display at the Museo de Arte Moderno after nearly two decades. The exhibition brings together key pieces of 20th-century Mexican art that sparked controversy when they were sold, despite collectors Jacques Gelman and Natasha Gelman having stipulated that they remain in Mexico.

The exhibition allows new generations to engage with one of the most important private collections dedicated to the country’s artistic modernity. The collection was assembled starting in the Protected content by Jacques and Natasha Gelman, who acquired works by some of Mexico’s most influential artists. Over time, the collection expanded, becoming one of the most representative bodies of modern Mexican art.

Among the works on display are pieces by essential figures such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo, and María Izquierdo. The exhibition also includes works by José Clemente Orozco, Gunther Gerzso, Carlos Mérida, Lola Álvarez Bravo, among others.

This exhibition also marks the beginning of a new phase of international touring for the collection, which begins in Mexico before traveling to other countries.

This is a guided visit with museum personnel and will be conducted in SPANISH.
