Picnic in the Park - August Books
We have three suggested summer reads for you this month.
First, Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. A memoir, published in Protected content . It tells the story of McCourts impoverished childhood in Limerick during the Protected content and 40s after his family returned from New York City.
Second up is The Zookeeper's Wife a non-fiction book by Diane Ackerman published in Protected content . The book tells the true story of Jan and Antonia who ran the Warsaw Zoo before and during World War 2.
Our final choice is the Wilderness Tips, a collection of short stories by Margaret Atwood first published in Protected content .
We will be meeting in Protected content
If the weather is bad, we will meet at Protected content
instead.
Don't forget to bring something to sit on and something to eat and drink. Maybe something from your country of origin that we could share.
