Das Private als Strategie der Aneignung

Im Workshop mit der Künstlerin Munira Mohamud entsteht ein gemeinsamer Raum des Erzählens, Zuhörens und Nähens. Ausgangspunkt ist ihre Arbeit Komm ins Museum und geh schlafen, in der sie symbolisch ihr Kinderschlafzimmer mit den Besucher*innen teilt. Im Zentrum des Workshops, in dem mit somalischen Mustern gearbeitet wird, stehen Fragen nach Nähe und Distanz, nach Privatsphäre und Gemeinschaft sowie danach, wie sich Menschen im Museum begegnen und einen Raum gemeinsam gestalten.

The Private as a Strategy of Reclaiming

In this workshop with artist Munira Mohamud, participants will create a shared space for storytelling, listening, and sewing. The starting point is her work Komm ins Museum und geh schlafen (Come to the Museum and Go to Sleep), in which she symbolically shares her childhood bedroom with visitors.

Working with Somali patterns, the workshop explores questions of intimacy and distance, privacy and community, and how people encounter one another in the museum and collectively shape a shared space.
