Christmassy Castle Hike
Come along for a short yet moderate hike from Zbečno to an Advent market in Krivoklat Castle!
Overall the 8-kilometer hike is pretty gentle with Protected content of gain. We will travel by train to the village of Zbečno. After a short walk along the Berounka River, we will begin a fairly long steady climb to a plateau. From there it is a relatively flat walk above the river with spectacular views of the castle towards the end of the hike.
The trail will likely be quite muddy in places. Suitable hiking boots or trail shoes are a must as are clothes to keep you warm and dry. If you have trekking poles, I would recommend brining them, but they are not necessary. Bring water, trail snacks, and possibly a thermos of warm tea or coffee.
The hike to the castle should take 2 ½ to 3 hours depending on our pace. Once there we will head into the castle grounds to enjoy the seasonal festivities, tasty treats, mulled wine, and a self-guided tour of the castle.
