Karlštejn Wine Festival Hike

Join us for a perfect autumn outing! We will hike about 13 kilometers from a nearby town via the Amerika quarries to Karlstejn where we will join in the medieval wine festival. The hike will be at a leisurely pace so that we can enjoy the day and hopefully some fall color.

We will enter Karlstejn from an upper point of the town. In order to enter the town you have to pay the entrance fee Protected content for advance tickets). The plan is to stay and enjoy the festivities culminating in a torchlight parade at 19:45.

Important information - please read:
--The hike should take about five hours
--The trails are primarily unpaved and a bit steep in a few spots, so proper trail shoes/boots are a must
--There is about Protected content of elevation gain and Protected content of descent
--There is not a spot to buy lunch on the way, so please pack a picnic lunch and bring plenty of water
--According to festival web sites, only cash is accepted if you buy your ticket on the spot, so please bring plenty of cash - Protected content at the bare minimum
--Plan for inclement weather and bring rain gear and clothing to keep you warm
