Exploring Tiské Stěny / Tisa Rock Walls
The event is being led by Rob, an Usti nad Labem resident, and frequent visitor to Tisa. Details from Rob below:
There is a secret place tucked away south of the Czech-German border in the Bohemian highlands. It is a special place - of mystique, intrigue, visual splendour, emotion, and maybe even a spiritual energy. A HIGHLIGHT of the Czech Republic.
More about Tisa at Protected content
There is a Protected content entrance fee. You can get a map of the rock formations and marked trails at the entry booth. As there are many trails, extending in different directions and to different end locations, you need to be able to read a map if you plan to make your time and trail your own.
There will be two meeting points and times; one about half way through the event (2 hours of exploring) – and the other the final meeting for the return bus to Usti– perhaps another 2 to 3 hours later.
Return Protected content 4:34 or 5:34 pm, depending on whether you want to stay in Usti for dinner. Regular trains run from Usti to Prague.
Bring drinks and snacks for a late lunch, in the forests and between the rock formations.
Challenge level:
An active hike - many small hills, uneven ground, ladders to climb, steep dirt trails to the top of the rocks - and back down. Falls here could be deadly! It won't suit individuals with ankle, knee, arm or shoulder problems.
Hiking boots are essential for this terrain. Consider carefully whether this walk will suit you before signing up.
