The City Writes Poetry!

Urban poetry between Berlin and Delhi!
Saturday, May 31st (7 p.m.) in Protected content
On May 31st there will be a reading evening on the topic of "Urban Poetry" in Protected content . This form of poetry lets us experience the thrill of the big city, puts its finger on sore spots and calls for change. It covers a broad spectrum of topics: everyday life, nightlife, poverty, racism, feminism, rebellion, and awakening.
Using texts by writers from a wide range of countries, we aim to shed light on the diverse, colorful world of urban poetry – from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day.
Speakers include sociologist/activist Khushboo Jain, Germanist/cultural manager Bettina Henningsen, and historian Niko Rollmann. The reading will be held in German and English. All participants will receive a handout with written information on the topic.
During the event, beverages will be available on-site at socially acceptable prices. For those unfamiliar with Protected content , a free guided tour of the settlement will be offered after the reading. The participation fee is €1.00. Please register at: Protected content
Please feel free to bring your friends and family along!
