Day trip out to the 'Costa Del Southend'
Come and join me and other 'Over 40's' members for a traditional 'Cockney' day out on the train from London to Southend on Sea.
We intend to walk to the end of the longest pier in Britain and then take the pier train back. Have a coffee, something to eat then lay down on the beach and tan ourselves under the hot Essex sun, buy a 'Kiss Me Quick' hat, and then treat ourselves to some of the lovely local English cuisine such as fish & chips, baked beans or cockels. We also might be lucky to observe some of that rare breed of 'Cockneys' in their natural habitat, easy to identify by their sunburnt skin, string vests and tattoos, talking in a loud rhyming slang, eating 'Jelied Eels' and knocking back cans of Stella whilst mating on the beach. We might be lucky, let's see.
Around 5-6pm we can jump back on the 'John Wayne' (the flexible ticket allows us to take different trains).
Forget your sun tan cream but make sure you bring an umbrella, speedos, heart tablets and some spare incontinence pads.
Please only 'Over 40's' in our group and only 'join' if you are coming on Sun 28th July!Protected content
