Let's watch the Mexican movie "El vigilante."
The "Nightguard" is part of Latin Wave Films weekend.

You won’t want to miss the 13th edition of Latin Wave at the MFAH, where the hottest new films from Latin America are featured along with opportunities to meet film-industry professionals! This year’s festival includes Colombia’s revenge drama Killing Jesús and comedy-drama Bad Lucky Goat; Cuba’s drama Sergio and Sergei; Mexico’s thriller The Night Guard; the Dominican Republic’s prison romance Woodpeckers; and Argentina’s historical drama from Lucrecia Martel, Zama. Hear from invited guests and filmmakers during the lively post-film discussions.
When Salvador and a colleague give alternate accounts of events to police investigating an abandoned car outside the construction site where they both work, Salvador unwillingly becomes enmeshed in a cover-up that prevents him from accompanying his wife as she goes into labor.
Part noir, part social commentary, Diego Ros’s debut explores the culture of silence to which many Mexicans adhere. The use of isolated, vacant spaces underscores the atmosphere of tension in the excellently scripted thriller that delves into some of the darker facets of life in Mexico City.
Admission is $8 if you're a member of the MFAH. I'll plan dinner prior to the film showing. Stay tuned for the separate dinner event. I have my ticket already. Some of these films sell out. I would suggest buying your ticket online beforehand.
