The Istanbul Chamber Orchestra is conducted by Juan José Navarro, one of Spain’s leading conductors. The concert's soloists include oboist Donghyun Kim, noted for his technical mastery and profound musicality, and Cihat Aşkın, a prominent figure in the Turkish violin school. The duo will share the stage for J.S. Bach's Concerto for Violin and Oboe in C minor, bringing the elegance of the classical period to the audience. The program will also include Joaquín Turina's Serenade for Strings, Victor Herbert's lyrical and joyful Serenade, and Ernst Bloch's heartfelt "The Prayer."
The Coffee Concerts' traditional mission of supporting young artists continues this week.
Derin Topgül will take the stage as the series' "Young Guest Artist" on cello. The young artist will deliver a moving performance of Bloch's moving "The Prayer."
