Easy yet Picturesque Circular Hike Starting at Frankfurt Hoechst
Easy Fall Hike from Historic Hoechst, via Main FERRY to Schwanheimer Düne and back along the Nidda River

We shall meet and start out at the city exit of Bahnhof Hoechst, stroll through the historic Old Town of Hoechst and hop on a small ferry to take us over to Schwanheim. There we shall proceed on a boardwalk through the Schwanheimer Düne, a nature preserve with beautiful flora and fauna and a remnant of the last ice age.
At its exit we cross over the Main again by bridge and continue to the Nidda River. We shall walk along the river and stop for lunch at the Anglerverein, a simple restaurant with tasty Schnitzel located directly alongside an arm of the Nidda river. Back to Hoechst first along the Nidda again and then through the city park of Hoechst.
Total hiking distance is approximately 8,2 mi / 12,5 km without any major ascents.
To enjoy savings on the ticket to Hoechst, meet at 10:40 am in front of the downstairs Burger King at Hauptbahnhof to join a group ticket. Up to 5 passengers riding together can join the ticket with savings starting at 2.
