Visit to the largest yard and archaeological site of Antwerp
Take a walk under the Opera Square and visit the tunnels, underground parking and light tube of the Noorderlijn. Those who love archeology will see how the 16th-century city wall and the Kipdorp bridge have grown into an open-air site.
The largest yard and archaeological open-air site in the city will open its doors on Sunday 16 June.
Step through the floating tunnels and parking under the Operaplein and be surprised by the extensive light pit
Always wanted to know how archeology is integrated into contemporary urban development? The 16th-century monumental city wall was restored. The Kipdorp Bridge and the bastion are also being rebuilt after the tunnel tubes have been added.
Visitors receive explanations on various points and can ask additional questions to the site supervisors of the Noorderlijn and the archaeologists of the city of Antwerp.
The yard is open from 10 am to 5 pm and can be visited continuously.
It would be nice if we could go together.
Visitors follow a closed trail. The entrance can be found on the Italiëlei, near Violierstraat. The visit is free.
Closed footwear is necessary (no heels).
For safety reasons, the tour is not accessible for wheelchair users or buggies.
