CHANGED!! Altar Painting Change in A Beautiful Baroque Church
Apologies for the confusion but as it turns out a lot of false information was floating around on various websites. This is now the correct version (hopefully no more changes after this). The new date is 1 August and the time is 9 p.m. The church remains open until 1 a.m.
Join us for a very old, traditional event in this beautiful Antwerp baroque church. Three times per year the painting that decorates the altar is exchanged for another one by means of an intricate system of pulleys.
The upcoming event is during the Museum Night and it is only accessible if you hold a ticket for that. (The ticket also gives you access to many museums in Antwerp.) The painting Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be swapped for another masterpiece, The Crowning Of Mary.
Tickets can be purchased via museumnacht.be at €20 for adults.
The changing of the paintings is scheduled for 9 p.m.
After the change of the altar painting there will be a guided tour through this most beautiful baroque church of the low countries.
