Babesa Cubana - When Greece Meets Latin America
Greece has always been captivated by the exoticism of South America. From the Protected content onwards so many Greek songs are coloured and driven by the rhythms and sounds of Brazil, Cuba, Argentina and the other beautiful countries of this continent. This afternoon we take Greek songs and “give them back" to their Latin roots. Fronted by Latin jazz singer Andria Antoniou (Cyprus), a group of musicians from Greece and South America bring us fresh takes on classic songs from all the eras...tango, bolero, salsa, son, bossa nova...it is all there.
Andria Antoniou (Cyprus) - voice
Pavlos Carvalho (Brazil/Greece) - bouzouki/cello
Kostas Kopanaris (Greece) - percussion
George Stamatis (Greece) - guitar
Adolfredo Pulido (Venezuela) - double bass.
