Surfliner to Santa Barbara and Don’t Forget Your Bike
Santa Barbara is a scenic coastal city known as the "American Riviera" for its Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, Mediterranean climate, and location between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
Please let us all join together to enjoy the beauty of this town in a relaxing yet active frame.
And.. we are taking the train to there! Skip the traffic and enjoy a smooth, easygoing ride with iconic views. Pacific Surfliner/Amtrak, offers coach class and business class reclining seats, free WiFi, power outlets, bikes racks/storage, restrooms. And you can even bring your pet.
An onboard market-style café features fresh food, snacks, and beverages, including soft drinks, wine, cocktails, and local craft beer.
Train ticket 1 way is $31 on coach, I recommend upgrading to Business Class for additional perks and comfort for $16.
We will explore/cruise the town on a bike/ebike. So please bring your bike. Or, you can rent a bike/ebike while you are there.
Key attractions include the Old Mission Santa Barbara, the Funk Zone's wine tasting rooms, Stearns Wharf, and numerous beaches. We will try to explore together as much as we can yet we will also rest enough in between so everyone feels comfortable and not overloaded.
The train leaves Union station at 7:13 am, and back to Union Station at 7pm train so that we have enough time to explore and rest.
Adventurous.. maybe. But why not!
Don’t be shy. Come. Please.
