Born in France more than 40 years ago, Fête de la Musique also known around the world as Make Music Day or World Music Day began with a simple idea: music should be everywhere. What started as a national celebration has grown into a global movement celebrated in more than Protected content and over 1,000 cities worldwide.

Each year, musicians, artists, and music lovers gather in streets, parks, and public spaces to share free live performances and celebrate the universal language of music. Fête de la Musique invites everyone to participate — whether by performing, dancing, listening, or simply enjoying the atmosphere together. In French, the name means both “Festival of Music, SON DE L'AMOUR.
