Independence Day.
Join us for a festive 4th of July picnic as we gather to enjoy the fireworks, good company, and holiday celebrations! Please bring your favorite drinks—alcoholic or non-alcoholic whatever you prefer —snacks to share, and something comfortable to sit on. 🎆🎇
We’ll meet at the Sylvan Theater Grounds, located south of the Washington Monument. This gently sloped, open grassy area sits right at the base of the monument and is a convenient spot for spreading out a blanket with a great view.
Don’t forget to bring chairs, blankets, or anything else that will help you relax and enjoy the evening comfortably.
Local tip: consider taking the Metro to Smithsonian Station, as parking around the monuments can be unpredictable.
