THE NARNIA TRAIL

This varied and undulating hike takes in ancient woodlands, idyllic views across the Downs, it traverses a plethora of farms and parks and takes us through Banstead Woods and Chipstead Downs, through nature trails and quaint hamlets

It might be muddy in some parts so bring proper hiking shoes and gaiters if you have them

HIGHLIGHTS

A walk through ancient woodlands with a raft of Hornbeam, Scots Pine, Oak and a Chestnut tree with a "Lattice Bark"

Pass various wood carvings & sculptures from the Narnia Chronicles of the Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe

Visit the Long Plantation, Shabden Park and walk along the Millennium Trail

Hike along Chipstead & Stagbury Downs

Terrain: Undulating with several ascents and descents. Not steep but a reasonable level of fitness required.

Distance: Protected content (9=10 miles)

Ascent: Protected content

Walk pace: Brisk

Approx 4 1/2 hours (depends on group speed, could finish earlier)

Bring a packed lunch & water

Starting point: Chipstead station

Ending point: Chipstead station

Train: Catch the from London Bridge / London Blackfriars

CHECK using Protected content

Parking: There is usually free parking on the road leading to the station (but get there early).

Or at Holly Lane Car Park which is 5 mins walk away (This also gets busy very busy so get there early)

Toilets: THERE ARE NO TOILETS AT THE STATION AND ALONG THE HIKE
