Join us for an enchanting afternoon as we celebrate the invaluable contributions of women to society and culture during Women's History Month. Our "Tea & Stories" event promises an intimate gathering where local women storytellers will narrate the captivating tales of remarkable women and girls who have often been overlooked in the annals of history.
From 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, indulge in a delightful program featuring insightful stories, an open mic session, and an engaging tour. Witness 10-minute performances from esteemed individuals such as Kuumba Youth’s 'Tattletale' Laila Thomas, Dr. Christine ArinzeSamuel, Vern Bailey, Gwendolyn, Dr. Bernice, and Ra Malika Imhotep as they bring to life the legacies of inspirational figures like Ella Fitzgerald, Harriet Power, Wilma Rudolph, Betsy Ross's indentured servant Grace Wisher, and more.
As you immerse yourself in these narratives, relish homemade refreshments from local Black-owned businesses and savor a cup of tea.
Plus, each ticket includes a special take-home gift, a Unique Women of the Wrens Nest exhibition and tour, as well as exclusive discounts on in-store purchases.
During the Open Mic portion of our event we will open the floor to attendeet to share passages fom their favorite female authors or personal stories of women who have empowered and inspired them.
