Let's Say "Hi" to Linh Mai, the New Trunk Load of Joy at the Zoo
Founded in Protected content , the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute (NZCBI) sits on Protected content in the heart of Washington, D.C.’s Rock Creek Park and is home to more than 2,100 animals representing almost Protected content species.
Join us this time to say 'Hi' to Linh Mai, new bundle of joy at the National Zoo. Smithsonian's Zoo recently welcome a new trunkload of joy. Born on Feb. 2 to 12-year-old mother Nhi Linh, this little calf is the first to arrive at the National Zoo in nearly 25 years. And thanks to the generosity of Zoo supporters, she now has a name: Linh Mai. Over the past century, Asian elephant populations have declined due to habitat loss and conflict. Through science, collaboration and care, we’re helping these animals survive and thrive in the wild and in human care.
