The area of Great Falls offers several scenic hiking trails, beautiful landscape, easy access to the canal towpath, and ranger programs that tell the story of the C&O Canal through unique experiences like rides on a replica canal boat. Great Falls and the C&O Canal have held special meanings over the centuries. To American Indians, it was a gathering place; to George Washington it was a dream of American commerce and an awe-inspiring site.
Join us to visit this area of Great Falls to admire the flora, fauna and try out one of the hiking paths along the river.
