Nigerian/Irish World Premiere at Dublin Theatre Festival

Dublin Municipal Theatre presents the world premiere of Let Me In at Protected content as part of Dublin Theatre Festival Protected content .

Lola is a firefighter – in every part of her life. The city is on fire and Lola needs rest, but it’s almost Seán’s birthday and his friends are coming over.

Let Me In is a new play by Esosa Ighodaro set in contemporary Ireland – where welcome is offered but belonging is negotiated daily. Told through warmth and humour, with a creeping sense of inevitability.

It’s a comedy.

It’s a fairy tale.
It’s a tragedy.

Developed through the Rachel Baptiste Programme for Black Irish writers, Let Me In is a Dublin Municipal Theatre and Dublin Theatre Festival Co-Production.

Esosa Ighodaro is a Nigerian / Irish screenwriter, director, vocalist, and actor based in Dublin. She makes work for stage and screen, and has written a number of stage plays. Her work aims to highlight Black talent and tell more varied stories of the Black experiences in Ireland, using humour to explore more serious themes. Her work for screen has been shown at film festivals across Ireland, US and Southern Africa.
