Spooky Tales Workshop (Europe/Africa/Mid East)
Join this workshop to learn more about crafting spooky tales, good for Halloween or any time of year!
“Spooky” isn’t the same as “scary,” or even “creepy.” While these words tend to be used together, each one elicits a different reaction from your audience. Because of this, each one has its own time and place where it can be used most effectively.
In this workshop we will:
Learn
•Define and differentiate between “spooky” vs “scary” vs “creepy”
•Learn about the effects each of these has on your audience and when to use them
•Explore how to create spookiness
Do
•Write your own spooky scene during a 30-minute free-writing session
(Prompts provided or write on your own theme)
Discuss
•The topic of spookiness in storytelling in general
•Our spooky texts and challenges in writing them
We look forward to seeing you!
