First celebrated in Protected content , National Heroes Day is a public holiday to honor Jamaica’s seven accredited national heroes for their monumental contributions to the nation’s freedom and societal development.
- Paul Bogle, a Baptist Preacher and Freedom Leader
- Samuel Sharpe, Leader of the Protected content War slave rebellion
- Marcus Garvey, a man who had gained international recognition for seeking the rights of all Blacks.
- George William Gordon made the list for his role in politics, and the education, health, local government, banking, and infrastructure reforms he pushed the British government for.
- Queen Nanny, a woman who was the military strategist and leader of the Jamaican Maroons.
- Sir Alexander Bustamante - Jamaicas first Prime Minister
- Norman Manley a scholar, famous Jamaican lawyer and Second Prime Minister.
