Tom Wesselmann: After Matisse

Matisse made a huge impression on many artists. Recently, the David Hockney exhibition here at the Musée Matisse demonstrated how Matisse inspired Hockney. In this new exhibition, you can see a selection of a selection of 41 of Tom Wesselmanni's pop art works, and the dialogue between this great American pop artist and Henri Matisse through his the collages, the Great American Nudes , the Steel Drawings and the Sunset Nudes .
Afterwards, for anyone who is inspired by the art they have seen and fancy joining in and sketching outside in the grounds of the museum, we can join with the Urban Sketchers Nice who will be sketching there.
Entry is free with a Nice Museum Card. Proof of address in Nice is needed to obtain the card if you don't have one and live here.
