A Night at the Theatre: 1984 by George Orwell
Winston Smith recounts his experience through the diary he has decided to write as an act of rebellion against the Party’s enforced orthodoxy of thought.
This narrative opens before our eyes a spectacle of conscious convention, a game played in full view of the audience. Four actors become Winston, Julia, O’Brien, and the entire constellation of characters who populate the world of Protected content Winston.
A retro-futuristic aesthetic. An alienating playing space where human beings (performers and audience alike) will feel the cruelty of the harsh, irritating, aggressive material… Rusted metals, corrosion, dampness… Stage resources created live by the actors coexist with the use of audiovisual technology.
BASED ON THE NOVEL OF THE SAME NAME BY GEORGE ORWELL.
