A Night at the Theatre: an Inspector Calls by J B Priestley
The celebration of a major event in an upper-class family is interrupted by a police inspector, who informs them that a young woman has just committed suicide. Acting as their conscience, the inspector gradually reveals who the young woman was, the relationship she had with each of those present, and how, without realising it, they each contributed to driving her to the brink — even revealing who delivered the final push.
How much can our actions affect others? What consequences do we have on those around us? A powerful work that invites us to reflect on our responsibility, both as individuals and as a society.
