Velo Summer Has Arrived. Cycle on Roads Closed to Cars!
Each year, Vëlosummer invites cyclists to discover the country, its diverse regions and touristic offerings by bike. Roads, usually too busy for bikes provide wondaful new cycling experiences. From Saturday, 18 July to Sunday, 16 August Protected content , the seventh edition of Vëlosummer will take place. This year’s 14 Vëlosummer routes reveal hidden gems, stunning landscapes and unforgettable experiences along the way.
This event covers the first route, there is a diffrent one each weekend. The Uewersauer route is accessible on 18 and 19 July and starts at either Goebelsmühle station or the youth hostel in Lultzhausen. The highlights include the castle in Esch-Sauer and the Upper Sûre Lake in Lultzhausen.
At 38 kilometres (out and back), the Uewersauer route is perfect for a family outing. This tour starts at Protected content
and runs alongside the Sûre river to the attractive town of Esch-sur-Sûre – taking in Dirbach, the two mills “Boukelsser Millen” and “Toodlermillen”, and the “Heischtergronn”. A tour of the castle, a walk around this small, historic town and a visit to the cloth factory are all must-do activities for your stop in Esch-sur-Sûre. The tour continues past the huge dam to Lultzhausen and the reservoir, where the chance to cool off is sure to do you good.
